Hey everyone.

First I wanna say that this is a really long text, so you’ve got two options: either you can read the entire thing (if you do that, thanks a lot) or you can just read what’s written in bold letters at the end of this post. So, if you’re willing to read this long freaking thing, here we go.

As you may have noticed, I finally released this thing that started way longer ago than I would like to admit. It’s nothing compared to other games out there, but I’m impressed that a lot of you liked it, and are anxious for the whole Ruins thing to come out. Being my first “game”, I think this is kind of a success.
However, I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it. Why? well, I’m not in the best economic situation right now. I’ve never been. The house where I live is not even mine and I’m trying to rent an apartment or something. So this means that I should get a job, getting paid mediocrely (is that even a word) and try to survive by working on something that I don’t like at all. Why do I tell you this? It’s because if that was the case, I wouldn’t be able to spend much time home, and that little time I would spend at home I would probably be trying to have fun, relax and not really developing anything (programming can be such a headache sometimes).
And this is where all of you come in; I’ve started a Patreon page, and before you say something about getting profit out of Toby’s work (Undertale), it’s not like that. What I mean is that I wouldn’t be getting paid to make the entire demo, I would be receiving money to finally live properly out of something that I love doing. I already have two other projects in mind that I would love to bring to life and show you all what I’m capable of.
Basically, I’m taking this one opportunity that I was given to live out of developing videogames, even making tutorials and more. Of course I do feel terrible about it, I mean, I’m begging for money so I can live. But let’s do the math:
I’ve been getting around 2000 views on the game page every day, and each news entry I post gets about the same amount of views as well (total, not daily). If 1 out of 2 people that are reading this pledged $1 each month I would be able to pay rent and a freaking internet service once and for all. For those who are wondering how am I online if I do not have an internet connection, the answer is that I use my phone in USB tethering mode. That’s about 16kb/s of download speed… try to live with that for a week, I’m pretty sure you would get crazy by the second day. When I have to upload something (like the game itself or a video) I go to a friend’s so I can do it there.
To put things in perspective, if you pledged $1 each month I’ll be able to finally live better and do what I love. If you keep that dollar for yourself and get a few extra coins, you can buy yourself a regular Coke bottle, and drink it on your way home.
Anyway, I’m sure most people doesn’t have money to spare and I understand it. But you can still help me by sharing the game with as many people as you can. After all, it’s exposure what really matters when it comes to content creation, that being games, music, drawings, anything.
Now, does this mean that I won’t make the full demo if you don’t support me on Patreon? Of course not. I’ll try to do my best to continue making things like this, even if I get a job, but I’m sure it’ll be way harder for me and the results won’t be the same.

Now, I’ve been also thinking of joining a team. But then I thought “why not making my own team?”, and that’s what I want to do.
If you think you’re good with any modeling software, or game engine (Unity preferred), texturing, programming, or at anything that has to do with video games and you want to join a team, this might be your chance. Needless to say, I’m not really looking for experts since I started less than half a year ago with all this. I’m just looking for people who are passionate about what they do and show promising futures upon themselves. So if you’re interested, say it by dropping a comment.
It’s not that I already decided everything and this will be a thing, but it’ll be good to know how many people are willing to work with me in future projects.

Finally, I want to know a lot of things. How should the new Frisk model look? what changes should be made to the combat system? should I make a new sounds instead of using the ones from the original game? This questions and more are going to be asked in the form of polls on my Twitter account starting this Monday, so feel free to check it out once in a while.
