Day 1: The average start
Well, you cant get a extinction during day 1 (atleast without glitches) so this one was just normal Pikmin
Day 2: The first extinction
The 2nd day I started with some red pikmin. Due to there being no time limit, doing a penalty would be a waster of time and due to me killin the extra pikmin anyway. The extra pikmin are only a time saver and nothing more. So I entered the emergence cave and did all the things there but there was a problem. Once I would leave the Cave the Day would end, and as a Balance I maked it so that only 1 pikmin survived, I picked purple over red due to them being rarer and making fighting and carrying bigger enemies earlier in the day possible
But then something great happen, because I had no reds. When I was back at the surface the "There is ONE new seed, be careful!" cutscene played and I had the rest of the day time to drown my Red and my Purple. So I had my first extinction, just because I choose Purple over Reds!
Day 3: Lets crush yet another Paperbag!
Yeah, this day was not such a adventure. It was basically just the prep work for Day 4, I open a few gates, I explored the hole of beasts for pokos and treasure, and I crushed the Paper Bag guarding the white flower garden. I think I needed to go through the hole of beasts two times to get enough purples. But thats soon becomes normal practise, due to the rarity of whites and purples
Day 4: Day 4 was not that exciting ngl
I went to the white flower garden and breaked down a poison wall to get the second of those world map items. It was not that exciting but Day 5 on the other hand
Day 5: Speedrunners Hole
I went to the hole of beasts to get myself purples. I decided to went the extra mile and also got myself Whites. Why you may ask. To get to the Snagret Hole early! And so I did a speedrun like thing were I tried to get the seond world map. The onion and strawberry that was on the overworld map and I throw pikmin in water to call them back to the other side to make them build a bridge. Long story short: I did the snagret hole with only reds, white and purples (in a dungeon with electric and waters) during a extinction run that is challenge enough.
It was half fun and half bad. It is fun to deal with elemental hazards that do not REQUIRE thier type to beat. like electrical wires that I can destory when I use stomping purples. But It was a fun killer when I could not get 100% because water I needed to treverse to get to the end. Water itself is not the problem, you can throw pikmin in the water and then call them on the other side. Its a problem when you need to carry through water. Thats not fun, I would like pikmin games to do more elements before thier pikmin type gets introduce, like maybe a electrical enemie that is super hard to beat due to you not having yellows yet. But I get off topic
Conclusion
I have over 4000 pokos and until now the extinction run was fun. The game gets harder when you not always have 100 pikmin to begin each cave. I currently am in the first day in the perplexing pool, I do there the citadel of spiders to grind pikmin, due to the citadel being very close, and the perplexing pool having little grind options. It is really effective to use the royal candypop bud to grind pikmins. Also because there is a purple and white flower. So that you can get the rare whites and purples very easily when you are ready to go into the citadel enough times
I am exitcted to see what adventures will wait in the extinction run!
