I've been quietly working on a new game for a while now, one that I've dreamed of creating for many years, and now it's finally at a stage where I feel I can share a bit.

Beatbov and Friends Road Trip, is a mix between a horror game and a roguelike.

In the spirit of roguelikes each playthrough offers a unique experience with procedurally-generated night maps and roadmap, and scanners to pick from.

Survive the nights or win mini-games to collect tokens, which you can use to refresh your choices or unlock animatronics, scanners, story elements, and more.

The game art style features a retro-inspired pixel art, reminiscent of classic handheld games.

So far, the features include:

  • 16 different animatronics

  • 10 run variations options

  • 4 mini-games

  • 3 biomes

Note this is still in development and things shown may change.

What do you think so far? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Cheers,
Life-Lich

I’ve been working on the menu, and creating jump scares, more info is included in the article. I’m not so sure about Siren’s jump scare. I like the idea of her pulling the player close, but I’m not sure if it works as a jump scare. What do you think?
