Now, we're not looking for trouble, it's just our nature to seek out anyone who can hear us
Hear our voices that have been shut out
For some poor souls that are trapped down here, this is perhaps the only someone to hear us
Free us from this prison. This abyss... deep in this world of aging, yellowing madness
There isn't much time left
No...
Perhaps... Too much time, that it means nothing
Transmission... Error...
Anyway...
This is our tale
Our story
From start to...
Well... we never know when it will end
....
It all started from two men
A great dreamer, Joey Drew, and a man with the gifted talent of art, Henry Stein
Two childhood friends, joining to create an animation studio
A place... we almost used to call home that now imprisons us all
It went pretty smooth from the start, the cartoons did well
Especially after Henry created them
Bendy...
Lil Devil Darlin'
It was created especially for Henry's daughter
Other characters included Boris the Wolf and Alice Angel
It was quite a smashing success, with the help of the studio crew
Sammy Lawrence, musician and composer
Jack Fain, lyricist
Norman Polk, projectionist
Wally Franks, janitor
Grant Cohen, finance director
That's what we started out with. A small studio. With little people
Things were going great and very smoothly… we thought it would always stay like this
Until we realised how much of a dreamer Joey is
A dreamer, not a worker
Ideas from every directions
Workload was gradually raising
What we got back? Money
Money it is, but what compared to what comes with it, we rather not take it
Until the day Henry quitted
All he said was that he needed more time for his wife, Linda. Although it had only been one year since we started the studio. We all missed him
Ever since that day, it seemed like everything had changed
Joey is a man of ideas
And only ideas
Hiring new workers? Check
New departments and extensions? Check
Susie Campbell, voice of Alice Angel
Shawn Flynn, toy maker
Funds really started to go down. Grant couldn’t really handle it well
And Sammy didn’t take the workload very easy. He would constantly snap
Everyone would work hours and hours. Barely getting to return home. We slept whenever we could just to recharge ourselves and do it all over again
Like an endless loop…
Things got worse when Joey popped up two more ideas
Amusement park Bendy Land and…
And…
The Ink Machine
Bertrum Pedimont, Lacie Benton, Thomas and Theodore Connor, came into work for all these projects
Oh…
Things got so bad…
Sammy was practically driven to insanity at this point. We couldn’t remember the last time he smiled
Wally, on the other hand, kept so optimistic
We never knew how
Tom and Theodore, the ones who built the Ink Machine, had started to realise Joey’s purpose of the Ink Machine was changing very quickly
It was starting to get… rather… crazy…
The true, main purpose for it… is to create living cartoon characters
Using the cursed, corrupted living ink
First try came out the most iconic character
Bendy
But before Tom could pull the lever, Amy, Henry’s daughter, jumped in the machine out of curiosity
Something was… luring her to jump
Joey saw, she… was claimed a failure of Bendy, even though Amy wasn’t the real Bendy, and got locked up in the Infirmary
Because she was now… “soulless”
Then it continued
Inkwells. Machinery. Gears. Everywhere
The project was rather top secret, and Tom, Theodre and Joey often had to discuss about it in isolated places
Unfortunately, one of the isolated places was the sewers
Jack had unfortunately heard the conversation at the wrong place, at the wrong time
They then started digging further into the matter, until Joey shut them out… using the Ink Machine
One member down
But it was all part of Joey’s plan. Cleverly pulling the strings of our fates from behind
Jack gone, what does it mean? More work for Sammy, less mental support, but hey, at least he’s got Norman! Right…?
Eventually, Joey hired a new voice actress, Allison Pendle, to voice Alice Angel instead of Susie Campbell
Reason? Perhaps it’s for snapping both Sammy and Susie in one shot. It worked… brilliantly. Especially the fact that they were in a small relationship before…
And Susie was obsessed with Alice Angel. She was fired, and was kept in the studio for a while. Until Joey offered her the chance to bring Alice Angel to life again. She… accepted
But just as Joey was about to kill Susie, Grant Cohen accidentally walked in on the scene. Another being on the wrong place, at the wrong time
It was in his gut instinct that Joey was about to do something bad, as if he ever trusted that guy anyway
…
Nature of humans to protect each other comes in handy, but perhaps… not this time
Two more members down
How did Joey manage to cover all of this, you may ask? Lies. Lots of lies. Smooth talking. So on
Tom eventually couldn’t handle keeping all of this to himself and told in on a bit to Allison Pendle, who has one of the only people who treated him well
In the midst of the chaos, a new gofer was hired
Daniel Buddy Lewek
He, like everyone here, trusted Joey
Things were still normal… okay enough… whatever “okay” or “normal” means anyway…
And then the day
On a usual work day, Sammy went to grab some sheets from the music closet. What was there greeting him? A pipe filled with corrupted ink, it burst, covering him in ink. Seeping into his mouth
He almost didn’t survive the incident, good thing Buddy gave him a rag to wipe it off on time… okay, maybe it wasn’t that much of a good thing, but still
Sammy’s personality drastically changed. He got addicted to the ink, snapped more often and just seemed to become insane, Norman tried everything to cheer him up and get his sanity back
Buddy and his sister, Dot, tried to get to the bottom of all these strange incidents
And out of curiosity, Buddy let Amy out of her cage, the Infirmary. And who was there watching him? Norman
After everything that happened, he realised he needed to be more aware of what’s happening, lucky for him he didn’t get caught like some others
Anyhow, Amy was on the loose, cartoons were still being made
And one day… Sammy went… missing
Norman practically had a mental breakdown after finding out that his brother went missing
And where did the music director go? He hid. Because he got corrupted. Driven from the work and ink to worship Amy. Just waiting for the right moment to show up, just like the others. Twisted Alice and Swollen Jack
After Sammy’s disappearance, Dot and Buddy sneaked into the studio after hours to hopefully uncover the truth
They found strange writings on the walls made by Sammy.
What’s worse, is that they ran into Amy
They managed to escape and Norman, who also sneaked into the studio at the time, found them and explained everything to them
The tale of how the studio was found
Ever since that day, Buddy got more skeptical trying to uncover the truth. He gave up on digging further while Dot continued exploring
And one day, Norman went missing, but no one noticed due to no one barely ever seeing him in the building anyways
Then came the night of a studio party
Joey invited everyone, except Allison Pendle, Thomas and Theodore Connor, knowing that they don’t trust him anymore, he knew they could cause a scene and spill out the truth
Dot tried to convince her brother to come back to the studio and investigate further, but Buddy denied. He went back to the party
Eventually Buddy felt like something wasn’t right. He saw Tom, Theodore and Allison storm into the party uninvited
Joey argued with them and fired three of them on the spot, claiming that the Ink Machine was fully his
Just like what he did with everything. Claiming other’s work as his own
Drawings, stories, songs, the amusement park… inventions
Little did they know Buddy heard everything
Tom filled in Buddy about the Ink Machine. It’s purpose
Buddy knew that instant he had to go back to the studio
He went back, meeting Sammy, who came out of hiding. He tried to sacrifice Buddy and Jacob, another worker, to Amy, but was unsuccessful
Dot knocked him out
They went to the theatre next door, and found the Ink Machine on the stage, along with the corpse of Norman, who suffocated in ink and died
Amy then came in
The three got into a gruesome fight, but managed to trap Amy underneath the stage
They thought they were safe…
That is, until Amy grabbed Buddy and dragged him down into the ink with him
Buddy told his sister to let him go, but Dot wouldn’t. She wouldn’t let Buddy get inked, but Amy pulled to hard, Dot lost her grip…
Three down
Sammy… Norman… Buddy
After the disappearance of many workers, horrible management and low funds, the studio didn’t stand well. It was on the verge of bankruptcy. Eventually, the studio had to shut down
After the studio’s closure, Joey made sure to tie any loose ends
He then killed Abby, Lisa, Dot, Bertrum, Lacie, Wally, Shawn, Allison, Theodore and Tom, then sacrificed them all to the Ink Machine
Making sure to silence anyone in affiliation to the machine or the studio
He was mostly successful in doing that, but still had to leave out some people, because he couldn’t do anything about it
Henry eventually got trapped too after getting a letter from Joey after 3 months, the poor animator now suffering to survive in the hellhole
The last person to be invited back is…
18-year-old Alyssa Connor, Allison and Tom’s daughter, she worked at the studio as a part-time job, but she was sick the time her parents got sacrificed, so she had to stay home
She came back just to see a recked madhouse full of insanity and betrayal…
And now, along with the other souls in the studio, is trapped for an eternity in the studio’s time loop. Fighting, scurrying, and desperate out of this prison. Willing to do anything. Down here, we’re all sinners. We always fall. It was his dream, our effort. Because he lied to us all. Joey lied to us all.
He might’ve said “dreams come to life”
But so do nightmares
…
Well… it’s been recorded. Told to whoever will find this. Because there are so few rules to our world now. So… little truths
But there’s one rule we all know and respect down here
Beware the Ink Demon
