Time for my ancient ideas. This one was invented around 18x-19x (I was about 16 at the time and I really like zombie and post-apocalypse games, and rpg maker too, nothing has changed now in principle). Found it all because back in the day I liked to print out my text files on the printer.

The year is 2071. A cure invented and produced about 30 years ago in the USA, against a disease (which is a mixture of smallpox and bubonic plague which are “modified” by cordyceps (what a cringe for me to read all this)). However, it is not profitable for the government to distribute it to its citizens, because in their opinion it is easier to kill all infected people and burn their bodies. Thereby destroying the alleged spreader of the virus, along with all the evidence.

As a result of all this, some governments decided to launch nuclear strikes on the US to protect their citizens from the virus. But in Brazil (why the fuck there), the “dead hand” tactic worked, so America unleashed its entire nuclear stockpile on other countries.

After 730 years, nature has already had time to recover over the centuries, and people have restored civilization to the Middle Ages. Also because of this virus (and gradual mutation of generations) people have strange and mystical abilities (aka magic).
