1. Mycelium Eyes: 10/10
An amazing song, I love the explosive bass and the overall vibe of the song, great opener for the album! Really funky ending and I like it
2. What You Sow: 8/10
Really great song, reminds me of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). As usual, Sub Urban's voice is gorgeous here, and the song has such an ominous and menacing tone, and I love it!
3. Skinny Loser: 9/10
The lead single for this album, I listened to this nonstop when it dropped. I love the borderline rock influence, and Sub Urban's voice control on this song is crazy, he doesn't even sound like himself in some parts. Great song, 9/10
4. Stay Still: 7/10
I really like the weird synth guitars on this. Weird love song (I think?) and has a weirdly happy vibe for a Sub Urban song. Great song tho.
5. Like Love: 9/10
PIANO. This is a really nice chill song about trying to replace the feeling of love with something else; it also just goes really hard lol. The switch up at the end goes REALLY hard, so ima bump up my score lol. Originally was thinking 7 or 8, will now be giving this a 9!
6. In Sunder: 10/10
This song is just so haunting. It invokes this primal... sadness? Maybe? I don't really know but it makes me feel stuff and it's the kinda song you would see a crazy person doing an elaborate ballet dance to in a movie and I love it so much! Also the slight switch up halfway through goes super hard.
7. Clip Thru U: 9/10
Love the mixed up voice! He sounds so truly sad on this song, and the atmosphere on this song is a really weird one I haven't heard in many other songs. It kinda gives me Nirvana vibes, but also still Sub Urban and I love it!
8. Mascara: 8/10
Great song, more rock ish influence with a very bass guitar-y instrumental. The song is about blind lust, and it's also just really fun to listen to. W song.
9. Make Me Forget: 10/10
This was my favorite of the prerelease songs, such a freaking banger. I love the hook and the verse and everything about this song, especially when he switches up stuff in the chorus, really beautiful song.
10. Fingernails: 10/10
Believe me if I could give this an 11/10 I would, but I'm keeping this list fair. This song has a magical vibe to it, and I really don't know how to describe it properly. I just feel like I'm floating in a void of what I think is guilt or sadness, but I'm honestly really not sure what the emotion is. The chorus is great too, and everything about the mixing and the writing is just perfect.
11. This Void Can Be Satiated: 9/10
ROCKKKKKK!!!! I love this song so much cause ROCK!!!! It goes really hard and it's about like guilt I think and I love songs about guilt so uhh yeah. Banger.
12. Fill this empty mall with water and ivy: 9/10
Long ahh name. Love the guitars tho! Sub Urban's voice is haunting as usual, and the drums and bass sounds on this song contributed to the vibe really well! I also really like the ending switch up, overall really haunting and well made song!
13. See Myself: 8/10
Another single from the album, sorta repetitive but still really great! I love the instrumental "chorus" and the message about body dysmorphia (I think that's what it's called). It's a really great song to just put on when you want something chill, but still works for a party. Really great song!
14. When I Can't Make You Mine: 10/10
Weird start, but I kinda like the choral Sub Urban. Once the drums came in though, it went INSANELY hard. I thought about giving this one a 9/10 at first, but it really is so masterfully executed, especially as a way to wrap up an already phenomenal album, I couldn't give it anything lower than a 10/10.
Overall Album Review: 10/10
A beautiful, haunting album from a clearly talented artist, lots of dark atmospheric tracks and also some really hype songs. This album is very different from what used to be the standard for Sub Urban songs, and I'm really liking this new direction he's going in!
