If you guys recall the Snowdin Town resort where you can sleep for 30/20HP, I have this idea in my head that you can get over max HP the same way in many areas BUT you will have to play through Chara/Frisk's nightmares.
For example once they heard of The King their dream may show how they imagine a fight with him.
I might even make a different character shape for it as they never saw him beforehand.
It would look closer and closer to actual Asgore the more they hear of him.

One thing has caught my attention, Sans could be either: a) firing up Frisk to kill Asgore
b) really believing Asgore would destroy humanity with 7 souls
c) wanting Frisk to actually give up on fighting Asgore and stay in The Underground (manipulation)
Toriel when a human murders an innocent monster: ok Toriel when a Froggit looks at the human from up-close as it's just curious: *if looks could kill*

Honestly, I'm quite happy about this, it actually looked quite good.

Hm, I don't see a Mod, I see an AU Take.. Holy shoot, that was nearly 4 years ago.. Can you guys imagine the 13 years old me making a Sans Sprite Replacement Mod and thinking it was cool?
