As you all know, It’s been months since anything was said about the fate of SMCQ. I had my old computer die, I lost every asset I had made for it, and the team unofficially dissolved. It broke my spirit for quite awhile. I tried to work on other projects, but people keep telling me how much they love this idea. So last night, after a much needed critique by my fellow developer friends, in which I was basically told to stop bitching, I can confirm that SMCQ is once more in development. Right now, it is only me, Joe. Yes, that’s my real name.
For the time being, I’m the only one working on it, and it will be that way for awhile. However, I feel as though I can do a lot more this time. I’ve been doing a few of the @Pixel_Dailies challenges, as well as working on other projects that I will eventually work on after SMCQ is completed. I can feel my pixel art skills are even stronger than before. So, from here on out until it’s release date, SMCQ will be my only goal.
That does mean that for awhile, I will only be making art assets for the game. At which ever point I need help, I will inquire. Until then, I’m content working on this myself.
Currently, I’m redesigning the characters to be more Rayman-ish in design. No arms and legs, just hands, feet, head and torso.
Well, I hope you guys are happy. I feel like I am. It’s just a little too soon to tell. Still getting out of this depressive situation I was in.
