Hello there! Welcome/welcome back!
My name is Jad. To those of you familiar with the original Undertale Purple (UTP) fangame project and its devlogs, you might know me as 3JAD21.
As of today, it has been almost exactly 8 years since the original UTP project was cancelled. Back then, myself and the people I worked with on the game were in our pre-teen/teenage years, which provides some much-needed context as to why the game didn't get far from start to cancellation.
You might be wondering, "A devlog post in 2025? What's going on exactly?"
You see, after playing through the two newest chapters in Deltarune, the UTDR brainrot has made its way back into my mind, and it reminded me of the UTP fangame I used to lead. I decided it would be fun to show off the unfinished project to my friends via my Twitch channel, and, well, one thing lead to another. We decided it might be cool to try and bring the game back.
So, it is my pleasure to announce today...
...the Undertale Purple - Perseverance Revival project!

For the past few weeks, the four of us have been slowly but surely setting up the groundwork for the new UTP project: figuring out what to keep, what to re-work or re-purpose, what to remove, and getting the base of the game set up. I won't be making any promises on when you can expect a new playable build, as that was a HUGE problem in the original project, and frankly, we're not in a rush to get this game made. That being said, I'm very satisfied with the progress we've made so far, and I'm optimistic for the future of this revitalised UTP fangame!
So, what can you expect from this project compared to the original? Well, we've decided to both keep and scrap some of the ideas from the original, and considering how little of the original project actually made its way into a playable build, you're likely going to see more new faces, places and story beats than old ones. However, most core concepts and some characters that were planned for the original project will still be in the Perseverance Revival!
Everything posted from the original fangame project by Team Perseverance, including playable builds, concept art and music, will remain archived here on the game page. Anything labelled with [OLD] or [OLD/UNUSED] before its text is from the original project!
Our plan for the next public update in the Perseverance Revival project is to prepare a small demo/playable build for you that shows our progress so far. Much like the playable builds of the original UTP project, this will be a very small snippet of gameplay. Unlike those older builds, however, this one should give you a relatively good idea on how the game will open. Hopefully that will be enough to show you that we're optimistic about this revival while we continue to work on it!
TL;DR: Team Perseverance's Undertale Purple is coming back under a new team, with the original project's lead still involved! Everything from the original UTP project will remain posted here, with [OLD] or [OLD/UNUSED] tags next to them! Stay tuned for another update from us!
