My time on GameJolt has been eventful, to say the least. Over time, I’ve come to see that this site has a serious problem with harassment and intolerance, especially toward people like myself who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Despite how easy it is to access and follow the guidelines, it’s clear that many users ignore the rules and target others without regard for morality.

Vacan-85 itself was born out of these experiences. It reflects my separation from another development team where I found myself doing most of the work, and the months of harassment and slander I’ve endured not just for leaving that development team, but also for the way I express myself — something that began after I dressed in a way others didn’t agree with. At the time I'm writing this, one individual has recently threatened to publish a “document” attacking me, simply because I blocked their alt accounts and documented the harassment that was aimed at me.

And after some thought, I have made a decision regarding my future on this website: I have decided that all future updates for Vacan85 and my other projects will be published on Itch io, and other social media platforms such as BlueSky.

But I want to make this clear: The threats made against me have not influenced this decision of mine, and I will continue to post on GameJolt for as long as my account exists. But I’ve realised that GameJolt is not the best place for me to share my projects. If you want visibility here, it usually requires working on Undertale or FNAF fangames, and my passion is creating original stories.
