Introduction To Goblin Balls

Built for mobile and web, Goblin Balls is a fast paced arcade game that takes inspiration from quick play games like Flappy Birds and Super Hexagon, and mixes it with the old school style most recently seen in Downwell. The goal is to crush as many goblins as possible with your giant magic balls before they steal your gold.

Originally it was created as a test to try out GameMaker Studio 2 and the GameJolt API for Pixel Raiders (Alpha Demo Available Here). After showing it off at local events around Scotland and gauging feedback it became clear that people enjoyed it’s quick fire gameplay, and it felt I could actually make something more substantial out of it.
Now a month after I first created Goblin Balls I’m going to release it here on GameJolt. Playable on computer, mobile and tablet thanks to the power of HTML5.

In the run up to release I’ll be posting devlogs about the development process. It has been a bit of a bumpy ride and I want to share my experiences with GameMaker Studio 2, the GameJolt API and the twists that have lead to Goblin Balls creation.

Hope you all stay tuned and stick around to see more of Goblin Balls!
