Introduction to Godsbane

So it’s about time that we started showing our project outside of the office!

Godsbane is Rockodile’s newest and most courageous project yet. It’s a fantasy twin stick action game with some RPG elements and MOBA style mechanics. We’ll tell you more about story and gameplay in later devlogs.

The project started in early 2016 with a team of 5. The team wanted to make a top down action game and so Godsbane took it’s shape. Most of the year we have been focusing on technology, pipelines and creative stuff.

In Godsbane you play as a race of celestial beings called Divians created only for one purpose: to destroy all enemy forces and gods on planet Deuspora. The Divians have a special ability to use pure Ambrosia, the fruit of life as their power.

Here’s a short video of the gameplay (really early stuff). This is how the game looks right now.

Here’s how the game has evolved in just few months:

Most recently we have been focusing on producing a decent playable demo stage. Local co-op, pathfinding, enemy AI and enemy characters.

So the idea in Godsbane is to kill all enemy troops on your home planet Deuspora. The game is level/mission based and the final version will have five different themes. The levels are semi-randomly generated from modules so every time you play the level is going to be a little different.

We’ll be adding the pre-alpha here soon and keep on updating it frequently.

Thanks!
