Hey all. I started working on FISSURE back in 2023. It was my first really *big* game effort. I'm still surprised just how much I did in such a short time.
FISSURE was an extremely meaningful project to me. Being a kid and having people play my game I worked on every day after school, it truly meant a lot to me.
Time passed, and I found myself "falling out of love" with the project. I loved to put things together, but maintaining them has always been pretty rough. Eventually, I abandoned the project, the codebase far too messy to revisit.
Now, I'm 20. I'm in college. I earn money. And I still make games. FISSURE has been sorta "haunting" me since I abandoned it. It was my dream game, after all (well, technically being on Terraria's dev team is my dream but this is certainly a close second). I knew, someday, sometime, I'd come back to it.
I've been brainstorming all the ways I could get back to it. The codebase is genuinely unsalvageable (it was written by a child (me at the time)). So I decided to start fresh. REALLY fresh. No Unity, no Godot, no nothing. Just a familiar framework and a lot of patience.
I'm very excited to share what I've made with you, but it's not ready yet. It won't be for a little while.
I recommend you follow my new account, @juni-makes-games
, if you're still interested in this old thing. I'm keeping this page up forever.
In the meantime, here's a little prototype screenshot. I hope to see you soon, deep below the ground...
