Fissure Beta 0.2.0 - "The Survival Update" has been released! Patch notes below:


ADDITIONS:

  1. Added the Hunger system

    1. Added Food items with Meat, Fruit, Veggie, and Saturation bonuses

  2. Added Fishing with accompanying loot

    1. Added Wooden Fishing Rod, crafted with Wood and Cobwebs

  3. Added Farming with accompanying crops and food items

  4. Added Temperature system

    1. Various things like armor, food eaten, being near a campfire, and being in water will affect temperature

    2. Overheating or freezing will result in damage over time

    3. Temperature does not apply in Easy mode

  5. Added Cooking system

    1. Added Campfire and Cooking Pot cooking stations

    2. Added 21 cooking recipes

  6. Added the Eldritch Infection debuff to Eld enemies' attacks, which makes all damage remove a full heart for a limited time.

  7. Added ~75 new items

  8. Added ~10 new entities

  9. Added ~15 new tiles

  10. Added critical strikes

  11. Added Overgrowth music

  12. Added Ambient sound along with Ambience volume slider

  13. Added death messages for starving, lava, burning, freezing, and overheating

  14. Added Spruce wood and accompanying furniture set

  15. Added snow particles to snow blocks

CHANGES:

  1. Populated the main menu with more recent additions

  2. Held torches are now displayed in the player's hand

  3. Tree seeds (and, by extension, farm seeds) will now continue growing when the tile they're on is unloaded

  4. Resprited a few items and tiles to fit a new art style

  5. Furnaces are now 1 tile wide

  6. Tweaked the player's hitbox

  7. You can now remove your bed spawn upon interacting with it a second time

    1. Destroying a bed will also reset your spawn

  8. Renamed Potions to Elixirs

  9. Arrow traps will now damage entities as well

  10. Made trees spawn slightly more frequently

  11. Removed the white square on world selctions (originally intended to be a preview; decided it was unnecessary)

  12. Overall sound tweaks

  13. Made Underground Ruins more dilapidated

  14. Added more variety to some tiles

  15. Added more plants to the Overgrowth, increased cave size in the biome

  16. Increased Eld cave size

  17. Slightly lowered amount of water in the world

  18. Added console command feedback to Alert Box

  19. Water will generate MUCH less in the Desert

  20. Added smooth movement to camera, increased maximum zoom-out distance

  21. Balance changes

  22. Certain tiles can no longer be blown up

FIXES:

  1. Potions and water bottles now have a sound effect upon consumption

  2. Fixed a rendering oddity by properly placing objects on their own Sorting Layers

  3. Fixed a bug where respawning at a bed would put you inside a tile

  4. Fixed a bug where the Librarian would spawn inside a tile

  5. Re-added the function that prevents hostile monsters from spawning in the worldspawn safe zone (accidentally broke it in a previous patch)

  6. Alert Box alerts no longer fade out backwards

  7. Fixed some oddities in world generation

  8. Un-janked a bunch of AI

  9. Optimized the save function a bit


INTERNAL CHANGES

Added "light" console command, enabling / disabling fullbright mode
