now i see it is running slower on here, but 280-330 fps is still good for this scenario!
in the released demo, the fps can drop below 60 while just placing tiles. now, with the entire chunk updating the lights every frame, it is around those 230-380 fps on a laptop. i think that's neat!
again, the chunks won't be updating like this every frame, so it will be even faster.
but how i got it to work? i said it didn't work on the laptop
well.. at first i thought it didn't work, but it likely did. i realized too late i acutally wasn't placing the correct tile (it didn't update the light level of the tile in the code).
but because i thought that was unlikely, i did some other changes before checking that, and the shaders should be now more compatible and optimized than ever lmao
