I feel like people gotta stop asking "OOH! WHEN IS THIS GAME GETTING RELEASED?" or "IS IT DONE YET???" or anything related to the expression of impatience. It's so simple to realise that game development, as well as anything to do with productivity, it should take time, as much time as possible. It should take time for each section of the game to be polished, it should take time for the game to have its bugs fixed, it should take time to really take each notes from your beta testers to fix things that the developer didn't notice when they were playtesting it, as well as balancing and other important stuff before release.
It should not have a deadline or any of these time restrictions to appeal to the ones that are just too excited and eager to play the game, this type of this stuff is literally what makes the development not so fun anymore. Another thing to realise, is people need to take breaks from projects, properly rest or have some fresh air and come back to being productive on that thing. It may not be the only reason on why the developer needs to cancel the game due to massive burnout and lack of motivation, but it really does get to a point where the pressure is a lot, and I mean... A LOT of pressure due to the demands and restrictions.
With that being said, that's all I gotta say. Stay patient, only expect release dates when the game is actually and easily near completion, even though delays have a 50/50 chance of happening. Cause again, developers are real people that have juggle so much with real life events. So we gotta be grateful that they're doing their best to provide when they have the time.
(before you comment, don't take this as a form of hatred, just a simple reality check that'll make you think twice about demanding when progress isn't even halfway there. I respect that you were able to read this and understand what I'm saying here. So if you did, thank you.)
