The Gilbert Facility, they're a top secret facility dedicated to researching and testing the bounds of life, through their research, they learn the following about human souls:

1. They exist. (Obviously)

2. A soul is most commonly bound to whatever object it was last near and/or thinking about, although this isn't always the case.

3. Most souls wind up animalistic and fractured when bound to an object, being hostile to whatever living thing is nearby, although they did make a breakthrough, and that is...

4. If a soul is bound to an object that represents itself when it was a human, whether its appearance or mind, then it may be able to control itself, even just a bit... although, they have not been able to put this specific idea to the test properly, until now.

In May of 1967, the Gilbert Facility set out to begin a new project, one to allow humans to live forever, they found 3 cancer patients, and promised them that, if they assisted in the experiment, they would live, and they all agreed.

The patients, Patient I-1, Patient I-2, and Patient I-3, were quickly studied for their vessels, and when the study was done, three wooden puppets were made to house the three patients, one that resembled a Red Panda, another that resembled a Koala, and another that resembled a Panda.

The three patients were set up in the testing chamber, and given their respective puppets, I-1 was given the Red Panda, I-2 was given the Koala, and I-3 was given the Panda. They were then injected with a shot to knock them out, so they wouldn't feel pain during the process, and then, their blood was drained, until their hearts stopped.

It took a while for anything to happen, but just as the scientists were about to pronounce the experiment as a failure, the puppets began to move, slowly prying themselves from their old bodies' hands, and landing on the ground. The experiment was a success!

January, 1968:
Gilbert, owner of the Gilbert Facility, passed away of natural causes. Alei, his son, gained ownership of the facility, and the majority of his father's assets.

Following his fathers dying request to be buried on-site, Alei ordered for a grave and statue of his father to be constructed next to the facility.
