is it fun to discuss the logistics of, say, playing a flute in the middle of a fight to increase the attack stats of your allies? yes
do i think people try too hard to make a lisa game feel realistic? *ahem* alex is too old *ahem*
i think people are quick to forget that lisa was inspired by hokuto no ken and not just earthbound or yume nikki
anybody even slightly familiar with martial arts manga should know how it treats guns (and knives too for that matter)
"oh wow this guy has a loaded firearm" so what? you picked the moveset of a bit character of a martial arts manga in a video game partially inspired by a martial arts manga while also not being the protagonist? i'm not +scared of you
the most useful party members in base painful are a guy who vomits on you, a guy who spits oil on you and a guy who dances on you
not even a skunk could +paralyse someone through their scent, nor could they +poison somebody so hard they die in a few minutes, but fly could do it as a human being, which is somehow more realistic than a gun that doesn't make a big number show up to give me +dopamine like all those arnold perspective mods that decorated the modding landscape yesteryear
frankly i'd rather get that +dopamine through pumping dozens and dozens of status effects on a poor lil' snake
lisa is all about the support characters and the status effects, not the dps, and that's what makes it interesting, and why base joyful combat isn't good
so in conclusion, i'm perfectly fine with lisa characters snatching bullets out of the air or tanking them with +ironbody
go wild with your movesets and don't constrain yourself so much, because trust me, having a realistic character sit right next to guys like big lincoln can work wonders
but i'm typing this up partially to scold myself for barely making any progress on bashful's cain's moveset for two whole weeks
