Firstly, we want to thank all of you for your support and feedback. It's been wonderful watching all your Let's Plays and reading the lovely things you've had to say about our game. We are also taking on board the criticism going into the next chapter. Simulacrum has been forged from our burning passion of survival horror and to have finally reached the point where people are playing and talking about our game, quite frankly, blows our minds.
The first chapter is just the start. Work on the second is well under way and we are just as excited about it as the rest of you. It's going to be bigger and there will be enemies to fight this time around. You've been asking for a release date. We can't commit to a specific date this early, but we are aiming (fingers crossed!) for it to be out sometime in 2021.
Now a little bit of bad news. We know some of you were anticipating a potential Mac release for Chapter One. Unfortunately we've had to cancel this. It's a tough decision for us because we want as many people to play as we can, but its development ran into several issues that were eating into the time for developing Chapter Two (we are essentially just a team of two, so our resources are very tight). We might revisit this plan in the future, but for now, a Mac release isn't on the table and our priority is getting the second chapter out on Windows.
A final note on transparency. We don't want to spoil too much of Simulacrum during development. We think the experience is most powerful when you're seeing the game for the first time. This was our mantra for Chapter One and while we still hold to that belief, we do want to relax that idea a little and show off some of Chapter Two's development. So you can expect some updates from time to time with some juicy pictures and videos.
