Lost to Time - March Update


Hello! Here is an update of what I've been working on in March, so here's some things to look forward to in the full release!

  • Magi Complete! As you may have noticed in the demo, most of the characters in the game needed some enhancements in the animation department. As I mentioned in last month's update, my plan is to add tween animations to all characters. I'm happy to report that one of the magi that will be in the game (unreleased in the demo) has been completed, tween animations and all!

    • I don't wish to disclose details about the new Magi, except that it is a righteousness based Magi with melee capabilities.

  • Various UI QOL improvements

    • The Magi quick change menu change that was added as a feature a few weeks into a demo ended up being one of the most used features. Thus I extended that functionality to consumable items and lenses, so you can change your lens or quick-slot item quickly without going to the pause menu by pressing Alt+e / Alt+t

    • The inventory screen in the pause menu is now organized by item type more cleanly, and one now has the option to filter their inventory items by type.

    • Added a * symbol to items you recently picked up, in case you didn't read the pick up item text.

  • Various Graphical QOL Improvements

    • I've made the dissolve effect (when Chrona changes forms / when enemies die) more consistent across all characters. Previously, the dissolve effect would be too small on large characters and too large on small characters. This was a shader issue that should be resolved now. - See GIF!

    • I've fixed objects incorrectly moving in paused time. Previously, even when time was paused, characters would still move (even if they weren't being touched) randomly. This issue should be resolved!

  • Boss - In The Mirrored Palace - Complete!

    • This boss now has all intended tween animation frames and is considered done! This is a pivotal boss in the game, gameplay wise, and I am satisfied with how it turned out.

  • Level - Codename D - WIP

    • I started work on a new level. This level is mostly puzzle focused. Graphically, it's a mess right now. I will be working on it mainly in the coming month. The GIFs posted here are a bit of a sneak peek to it!

  • Other

    • The Soul Antenna item, while it did increase your soul count, did not display the accurate amount in the UI. This has been fixed (Thanks to a bug report from a while back!)
