Unlike other developers, which add difficulty levels or make skipping features, I have made a system that detects and helps a troubled player in an intense level and named it “I.L.H” or Invisible Level Helpers.
Here are some points about this mechanism:
• This system is activated in every level (except the last level) and will offer help to the player after certain attempts of retrying.
• The I.L.H makes a level easier by deleting/disabling a difficulty factor, or adding additional guiding factors (like some lights in a maze level to enlighten the correct path).
• Also this mechanism will do various actions, which are done when a player really can’t pass a level even with the I.L.H’s helps; Character/Vehicle controlling-assist is one of these actions.
• I.L.H sounds good, but just like other Player-helping methods it has great impact on the player’s score or future experience. (For example in tRIP, the last level would be harder if player uses I.L.H. This means if you don’t use this system, your last level would be a piece of cake!).
Take note that these were the common points about this system which i will use in some of my games. Not all of these would apply in tRIP’s I.L.H system.
Sorry this was a hell of a long post;
Thanks for reading! If you did…
