Maria Robotnik was a kind, optimistic, and selfless girl with a terminal illness who formed a deep bond with Shadow the Hedgehog on the Space Colony ARK. Despite her frailty, she was brave and compassionate, always putting others first. Maria's dream was to come back to Mobius, and she trusted Shadow and her grandfather, Gerald, to find a cure for her illness. She sacrificed her life to save Shadow during a G.U.N. raid, impacting him deeply and motivating many of his actions. Her death drove her grandfather to madness and set off major conflicts. Maria’s last wish for Shadow to protect the world became his guiding purpose, shaping his life and heroic deeds long after her passing.
