First off, let's start by remembering that we have NO CLUE who the protagonist of Evergreen will be. Kane had been very open with which characters will come back to the reboot, confirming that Simon is back with a new design and the Lux animatronics were scrapped. But when it comes to Strings the answer is always ambiguous, not a yes or no...

The protagonist or playable character for Evergreen is a mystery.

Some people claim is Strings with a new design, but then why he just didn't say so? He did with Simon and have kept him a secret, why would he keep Strings as a secret when is such an obvious answer?

Some people claim to be Fritz since the post nights feature the Toy Animatronics, who else would know about them? But then- why would he build animatronics that would attack him? Why would he hallucinate and be afraid of his own creations (the popgoes band) when he made them?

What other options we have? We sort of have 3:

1. Mike Jr (The return, since the CPU)

2. Random guy (Just because)

3. Marylin Schmidt (FNaC 2 protagonist

I am going to skip 2 options to focus on the one I want to talk about today: Marylin.

She was introduced in FNaC 2 as Mary's daughter, she made a bet to spend 5 nights at the old factory of Robowtics and survived against the Withered animatronics from the Candy's franchise.

We meet her again in myPOPGOES thanks to a secret diary entry from Bonnie as an adult, where is revealed they are friends and have shared information about their paranormal experiences

Bullet pointing the info as of why she could be the protagonist:

• Candy's and POPGOES share the same universe, is not weird to have characters from the Candy's franchise playing a role in POPGOES and vice versa

• Bonnie and Marylin are online friends, despite living in two different countries they talk via chat or email

• Bonnie and Marylin made the Ultraviolet project, where they want to investigate and share everything they know about the paranormal; Bonnie with her "gift" to hear dead people and Marylin with her and her mom's experiences with the Candy's ghosts

• We don't have a confirmed protagonist for POPGOES Evergreen AND Marylin being namedropped came out of nowhere, I dont think is just a easter egg, but a hint of something bigger

• Marylin didn't had enough protagonist in her debut game, while it was her challenge to complete, the final and most important nights are played by Mary herself, and little to no business to her.

So!! Now comes the "but WHY would she work/be in the pizzeria to begin with?" well this is the fun part where you just have to believe.

There is the chance Marylin would travel to the UK to meet up with Bonnie, long distance friends do that when they have a strong connection and by the way Bonnie talk about her on her diary, they were close. Plus it would make sence they are together to see Bonnie use her "powers" to communicate with the death rather than through a screen, and it would be easier for Marylin to travel than Bonnie, since Bonnie is always worried about her dad and wouldn't want to leave him alone.

Now then... Bonnie is "not around" by the events of Evergreen, and Arcade happens a day before the first shift so we very well know where she is.

Marylin would travel to the UK, be unable to communicate with her as she is not answering messages or her phone, but she knows who she is and would go to the Popgoes Pizzeria to ask for her. Fritz might or might not know who she is (depends if Bonnie told his dad things or not) but he would act weird when asked about Bonnie. For the sake of this lets say either Marylin explains what she and Bonnie are doing or he knew beforehand because Bonnie told him, and to move the conversation somewhere else than his absent daughter he offers her the chance to check the pizzeria at night for her investigation (I know it sounds odd, but considering they were investigating paranormality on machines maybe she would believe she can get something from this pizzeria)

This would lead to the main nights, where Bonnie's spirit would control the animatronics to build her a body, Marylin would get scared to see machines moving again after so many years, but would be able to control it to pass through the night (the panic meter, the cameras). Would Bonnie attack her? No! She is just making a body for herself, remember that all the jumpscares are hallucinations, the animatronics are harmless. Maybe Bonnie doesn't know is Marylin and just sees her as a threat to complete her plan to become full again.

We have no idea what the Post nights even are, but if they are Toy animatronics Fritz build maybe that would be the main interest for Marylin to check? since the Toys were active alongside Candy's. And on her fear she would hallucinate with the False forms, Freddy's had way more crimes (thanks Simon) than Candy's so it would be fair for her to be scared of anything related to them

That is what I have so far! I might miss a few things and we might not have a full picture to make everything fit, but this is what I could do with the little info we have!

I think it would be cool to give Marylin a spotlight after FNaC 2, after all FNaC 4 wont be tied to Mary's story
