Oh wow, so there's kind of a lot to uncover here so let's get the simple part out the way.
Thank you all for 4,000 followers!
This is my first game page to hit this mile stone, and if I recall my first page to even hit 3,000 followers to begin with. Which is insane enough as it is, the support the game is getting is unreal.
Merry Christmas!
As much as the dark lord Hourglass may not like Christmas unlike us mortals, it doesn't stop me from at least saying Merry Christmas to his followers who do in fact do celebrate this time of the year, I hope you all have a great time :)
Addressing the Elephant in the Room
Now to address everyone's concern. Where is the game? Why is it taking so long? When do I expect the game to release fully? As honest I have to be, to answer all of these is I don't know sadly. I don't want to cancel this game, and I'm sure the team would be let down as well as much as everyone if I were to pull something like that on you guys, which I won't. It's a matter of that I'm still working on the caverns, and to be honest due to the gameplay change this version of the caverns is going to have, making the rooms in Blender is already kinda testing my computers limits. Cause I do not have a very good computer so trying to work on the caverns and the state its in causes me to lag quite often and sometimes crash the software, with the gameplay aiming to be full a 360 degree motion based point-and-point and adventure segment of the game, I'm having to fill the rooms as much as I can so they don't feel empty or things like that.
Why I haven't been trying to finish the rooms is because I've been dealing with 40 hours a week of work through the year until October 20th, which is when I actually quit my job to work at another location which I hoped to settle down fully into with full time hours. Unfortunately I was let go not so long after the place was fully opened, but I am on the verge of possibly getting my older job back with less hours. Which I HOPE to get to work on things properly in 2024 and try to aim for release during then, but I can't promise anything.
I may have to most likely get a few more hands on deck to take over rendering and such, but we'll see until that time comes.
How much of the game is complete?
The base game of The Lost Ones: Treasure Island is finished, from Night 1 all the way to All 20 mode being beatable.
The following are still yet to be finished:
Bigger pre-rendered Cutscenes (like The Lost Ones 2 R had)
Extras Menu
Custom Night exclusive skin packs for characters.
Randomized weather per night (minor implementation)
Endless Night mode (Expansion after the game is released)
Voice actors (Especially replacing Greg's VA)
The Lost Ones universe has become my biggest ambition, more than FNwMT with a story I enjoyed making, and this is something I wish to finish before my era of fangames is finished. But trying to work on it through times on unmotivation and stress does not allow me to get the best possible result and will make things sloppy. Game development takes time, especially with something like this.
I apologise for such a long wait, and all I can say is thank you for your patience. And hope this game will live up to your expectations. Have a Merry Christmas!
