Starting of I just wanted to say that I'm in love with this meme. Anyway...
Without question it's an improvement over the base game.
I never finished my first play through of Security Breach since I felt uninterested in the plot of the game. However playing rthe DLC I tried staying off of YouTube so I couldn't get spoiled about the ending.
Ruin brought back some of my love for the franchise since I enjoyed the gameplay way more than SB since I couldn't just hide away in a booth. I always felt that the MXES or whatever his name is was a looming threat and I genuinely got anxious while I was wearing the Vanny mask. This kind of feeling reminded me of the good old days even if it was just a little bit.
Looking back the new Animatronic designs contributed massively in making me nervous. Ngl I despised the Glamrocks' design for the same reson everyone did. Something that especially threw me off was the fact that the models that Steel Wool made looked much cleaner than the ones Scott used to make which were a big reason I fell in love with the series in the first place. For me all of the Ruin Animatronics are upgraded versions of the Shattereds with the personal highlight being Freddy. I just love that his stomach cavity now pays homage to Nightmare Fred Bear.
Finally the plot of the DLC kept me on edge the entire way through. I was really invested and I even tried to 100% all the chapters something that I don't typically do in games. The pase felt pretty smooth to me and the way that Steel Wool made clear which ending was canon felt absolutely earned in my opinion. The only thing that I found odd was why the Vanny mask was seemingly used by fazbear employees casually for their occupation but I'm sure there is a deeper explanation to it.
Now about the Mimic. I have not read any Tales from the Pizzaplex books. Even though I enjoyed all the Fazbear Frights I wasn't really intrigued by the idea of reading about a location based on a game that I didn't like in the first place. From what I've seen so far the Mimic looks like it has potential. Although we didn't really spend much time with him I have faith that he can become a worthy successor to William Afton. Although I don't understand the existence of the mascot costumes (which don't really match the vibe that the games have being going for for quite some time).
Personally I think that the main ending is great. I've always hated that little bastard Gregory. I honestly can not comprehend how people felt his and Freddy's relationship was genuine and earned. To me he seemed like a mediocre at best protagonist and that he was just manipulating Freddy for personal gain. Cassie as a character and her connection with Roxy are much superior in me eyes. I truly felt something during the final moments of the DLC wher Cassie had to deactivate Roxy in order to save "Gregory". The Scooper ending was a fun unlockable and the Fred Bear one although cryptic it sparked my interest.
There is so much more that I would love to talk about and share with the internet but this has turned out longer than any of my school projects. If anyone has made it to the end after reading the entire thing just know that I truly appreciate you. Kane would cry if he saw this.
