My Spoiler Review for the Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) Movie!

(Theres a TL;DR at the end of this post where it doesn't have spoilers, so check that out only if you want to avoid spoilers!)

Originally i was supposed to watch this in Saturday, but since i was the most impatient man in the world... i watched this on thursday instead lol,

So now I have watched this movie over 2 times (Both through Theatres) Have yet to watch it digitally again, But i'll watch it again when i just feel like it, But lets get to the Review!

Ever since i've been introduced to FNaF back in 2017 by playing those FNaF Mobile Ports Demo (i forgot which one i played first lol, that was the only part i remembered), And got back into the fandom in 2019, I've been dying to see a movie of fnaf, since now i've watched a LOT of Movies & TV Shows. I have finally watched this movie, And man.... this felt like a dream come true for us.

This movie has been in hell development for years (FNAW SLAVES EDITION REFERENCE!!!) And most fans have waited for 8 YEARS, i think its safe to say that this was NOT a dissapointment, and this movie will be memorable for years.

Lets start with the story first, I think its pretty interesting that Mike's Backstory is the most focused story in this film, Where apparently hes not related with the Afton family's anymore, And now he has a sister called Abby, Where he has a trauma about his brother Garret being kiddnapped, and dreams about it every night, trying to look clues and find out who's the kidnapper, (Kind of a nitpick, but i wish there wasn't like 6 of these dream sequences, it honestly felt repetitive and could've been drained to like only 3)

I like that they gave a depth story into him now where he's not just a guy getting a job at freddy's and unraveling the rabbit holes about the place, Instead hes now an actual human with issues where he has to take care of abby and don't have parents anymore, and can't let go of Garret's death, where he has a pretty bad reputation now with his jobs where his jobs are now VERY limited. So now he has no choice but to work at Freddy's so it can make him look good in court so he doesn't lose his custody. His acting is pretty good, but i feel like he lacked the most in the film, He could've showed more expressions where hes actually in fear, Kinda like the security guard we saw from the opening

Abby's character felt interesting also, where it looks like she has autism (not confirmed, but by the way she's potrayed, it feels like she is autistic), Where she has attachments to the Animatronic's Souls and be friend with them, to the point where she asks for help to make a big fort so everyone can fit in (pretty cute scene btw, idk why people found it cringy and hated it. it jusr shows that the souls are still childrens, not just mindless killer robots) Only to find out that they have sinister plans later on to put her into this looking animatronic so she can be "One of them." (Also is it just me, or the animatronic looks like Ella from the FNaF Books?) The kid's acting itself is pretty good, so a bonus point for her also

Vanessa's Character is also very interesting, Where now she's the Daughter of William Afton. And might be the love interest of Michael Schmidt? (theres a lot scenes where it hints at that, like when she asks to mike if he wants to dance with her) Where in the ending she nearly died and got stabbed by her own father. Her dialouges are kinda bad, like the time she said she would shoot him, like you can't just say that when you're a damn police cop

William Afton's character feels SO WASTED in this movie, like he was basically in only 2 places in this movie, his office and the pizzeria, I honestly felt dissapointed to find out this character's lore wasn't the main focus of the film, but it was Mike's instead, but thank god Mike's character & his backstory is pretty good also. And also Matthew Lillard's performance is SO GOOD aswell, when hes in his Steve Raglan Personality & William Afton Personality also. just wished he had more screntime

The Cameos was perfectly placed in the movie, Matpat's cameo delivery doesn't feel cringey or pretty bad, just fits well with the context of the scene. This goes to my man Coryxkenshin also (his scenes are pretty funny too lol)

Despite this being a PG-13 Horror Movie, The kills are pretty damn brutal also (By using sound effects and shadows also, like goddamn Max's death was brutal and also the Springlock Failure Scene was pretty good also, Where its actually realistic & how it leads to using your imagination how painful it is)

One last nitpick i have is that theres barely any horrors in this movie, Like if you really think about it, theres more comedy scenes than horror in this movie, like not even a jumpscare in someone's face (like the good ol' classic jumspcares are in the games)

Few things i want to say is that its kinda that a literal Cupcake has the highest kill count on-screen in the movie & also attacked a lot of people. Also what was BB's deal in this movie, bro jumpscared mike twice and jumpscared cory in the post credit scene (Kinda dissapointed thats the post-credit scene, instead of a teaser for the sequel) Kinda funny if he would be an actual threat in the movie later on though lol

Also just because i'm biased, The Living Tombstone's FNaF 1 Song made this movie 100x better for me personally because of how much i liked the song lol (and also crazy this was already planned BACK IN 2018 to be in as the credits music in the background, back when this movie was still in development hell)

Despite it seemingly like i hated this movie with how much complains i had in this post, I actually LOVED the movie and will be rewatching this movie 10 thousand times in the future, If i hated it i wouldn't even watch it 2 times in theatres lol.

TL;DR: A Solid 8/10, This Movie was one of the better Blumhouse's Movie They have made, And i'm so glad its most likely going to be the most successfull horror movies of all time, Worth the 8 Years we have waited.

Just don't really go into this movie with full on high expectations, Go on it with the lowest expectations possible. And i'm sure you'll enjoy it ;)

Since this game is pretty much dead, this game is getting a new secret update! ...the problem is that i've asked about 13 coders in the ENTIRE FNAW Community and none of them accepted it, so now i have to rely on just luck.
