Hey guys,
It's been a while since I provided an update on any of my projects, so I thought I'd share a bit about my new FNF Engine that I've been working on for about a year and a half now. I've attempted to delve into other projects in recent times, but I never managed to pull something together, so I focused on this project instead.
My primary goal was to create an FNF Engine that primarily focuses on online play. However, I decided to make it even more functional, allowing for easy modding, unlike the Psych Engine.
Now, the question arises as to why I chose to create my own instead of using an existing one that might be better.
As I usually say, I don't want to touch other people's engines if it means I have to learn how to use them. There might be engines that are easy to use, but I don't want to learn another coding language. From what I've heard, Haxe isn't a good enough engine compared to Godot.
And now, let's get to the main point of this announcement
CLOSED ALPHA TEST
I am pleased to announce that the Engine will soon be playable/testable. I truly didn't think I would come this far, that after several years, I can finally put something on the table that I can be proud of.
The alpha will include:
Local Multiplayer Mode
Freeplay
I can't say anything particularly special about the engine; all I know is that it runs better than the original FNF engine.
I would delve deeper, provide more details about the engine, but I'd rather save that for the end when it's completely finished.
Possible release date: December 2023
