Nyssa is a leafkin, the species of the higher creatures in leaf glade. She is the last of her species and watches over the remnants of the other, low-life species.

When first encountering the knight, she states that 'it' managed to break apart a door meant for higher beings & was unsure of what the knight was seeking.

"You might have broken the worldly door & entered this cursed land boldly, but I do not fear you."

"I am unsure of what you are seeking. If it is a spar, I am ready with my weapon"

During her third encounter in the City of Titus, she mentions Hallownest, and the disease it suffered, unaware that the knight was originally from there.

"Your endeavour reminds me of a faded land, which suffered from a plague like ours. What chance do you stand, when an entire civilization faded to this contagion"
