New Enemy Update

Hey everyoHey everyone,

Got a fun little update for you today. I haven’t been posting devlogs as I go, but I’m hoping to start turning that around starting now.

As of late, we’ve been working hard on adding polish, and variety to Ground Floor Z. The polish, has come largely in the form of visual upgrades by the wonderful WildBearArt, and musical upgrades by the fantastic Emma_MA. I can’t thank these two enough for all the work they’ve put into the game.

On the programming side, I’ve tracked down several memory leaks in the game that would lead to severe slowdown after multiple plays. Hopefully this will lead to things running faster, and more reliably. We’ve made changes to bite detection, and are now pursuing the projectile skipping bug.

The newest gameplay content added to the game, comes in the form of new enemies. Depending on when you last checked out the game, you will now find 1 to 2 more enemies. The first being the tough zombie that takes two hits to take down. The second is an explosive zombie, that can be shot again after being fatally wounded, to deal damage in an area to both guests, and zombies.

With all these changes to the game, it was time to reset the score table. Let’s see who can claim the top spot with all the new tweaks we have made.

That’s it now. Thank you for joining us on our journey to launch. Hopefully you will enjoy the changes we have made.

See you on the scoreboards.

Oh, and if you want to watch this game de developed live, be sure to follow me on Twitch.

Levels' maps.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
