New game look and a start of a new devlog for JICE!

This is a first person platformer with cartoony style and some shooting. The first demo version of it was made in 2019, but it's the 2022 when I decided to dedicate my time to get it to a full release.

Spent some time on making an adaptive UI for my html5 game in gamemaker. Buttons and pictures now resize and shift if the browser size changes.

Working on a small web game; couldn't figure out what was causing it to not connect to an extension. Turns out, GameMaker's latest update wipes a part of index.html - with important data from the extension. At least, it wasn't just me being stupid

Moved to version 5.6 of UE, had to adapt to some changes like the enhanced input system getting rid of some things. Still, there were also some changes to global illumination, which fixed a few details for me.

Something of an atrium in the middle of an office area.

Made a simple comparison table of the most popular asset stores! I was mainly aiming for 2D pixel art, but it is applicable for other asset types as well. Overall, itch io is probably ahead for me, but it is worth the time to set up other storefronts too.

Sometimes it does feel like this ๐Ÿ˜†

Just jumping around Spaceport, collecting energy

Will add a bit more lighting, but for now finished with this section of the Depot level.

๐Ÿฅณ Year recap. Worked on JICE: new meshes, weapons, an NPC robot, dialogues, started level design for level 2. Released a web game and even earned some (small) money from ads. Next yearโ€™s goal: 2 web games and.. a bit more money? ๐Ÿ˜†

Happy new years!

Did some more level design this week. Found out that the tutorial tvs broke at some point, while I was improving the interactions system. But if I don't tell anyone that these screens are supposed to show text, nobody is gonna know.. Oh.
