Hey, guys and gals! This previous weekend Ludum Dare 41 was being held, and I submitted yet another rockin’ entry this time around.

The theme for this event was “Combine 2 Incompatible Genres,” so I decided to mix the Shoot ‘em up genre, known for having very linear games, with the Metroidvania genre, known for having very nonlinear games, and the resulting game turned out really well! Being that the game is an homage to Gradius and Metroid, I named the game Gradioid.

Compared to Super Plumber Man, which runs for roughly 2 minutes, the playtime for the game runs from around 20 to 40 minutes, but this time can really fluctuate based on how well you know the game.

Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the game; I definitely think this is my best entry to date (although, I don’t think I’ll ever top the hilarity of Super Plumber Man). So, if you like Shoot em’ ups, Metroidvanias, or just want to continue to support me, please go check out my game!
