Welp, here it comes. The first ever actual dev log! I consider this the "first" dev log because even if I've shared some info on the game, I've never really formatted it in a good way and went into specifics with what was accomplished. Ofc some things will be left out because I don't wanna spill the beans on everything so some parts will be somewhat vague.
A New Name
I held off on this for a while because I was trying to figure out what would fit best as a name replacement. The two biggest reasons is that I wanted to get rid of the famous "R" word that's used alot, (Reimagined, Remake, Remaster, etc.) and I wanted to make the name somewhat original. This game's new name will be changed from "Five Nights at Sonic's 5: The End Game Reimagined" to "Sonic's Heroic Museum: SHPP's Grand Finale." Classic edition's name will only swap out "Grand" for "Classical" since it keeps it more simple and flows well (at least I'd like to think so). Characters have also gotten a rename and design change but they'll be revealed later on.
Here's a bit of a comparison between logos/thumbnails/names

Progress
I'll admit, whenever I get progress, I have a pretty bad habit of getting demotivated shortly after and just going silent for prolonged periods of time. I'm not proud of my inconsistency, but I have been quite motivated as of recently and have racked up some actual progress game development wise and lore wise. I'll give rough estimates on what I've done progress wise.
Sonic's Heroic Museum: SHPP's Grand Finale
Gameplay: 0%
AI: 0%
Art: 5%
Story: 10%
Main Menu: 30%
Sonic's Heroic Museum: SHPP's Classical Finale
Gameplay: 60%~
AI: 35%
Art: 25%
Story: 60%~
Main Menu: 70%
By the way, to clear up any possible confusion, the "gameplay" percentage is mostly correlating with the buttons you press or actions you can commit to in defending yourself in game. If anyone wasn't aware, I am mostly focused on finishing the 'Classic' version first because it'll essentially be my warmup before I take on the 'Grand Finale'. I'll be honest, at the beginning of developing the classic variation, I wasn't going to really change any mechanics and make it as close to the original release in 2020 as possible but with better graphics, but after looking at what was there, I decided that I wanted my game to stand out even if only a little bit from the other fan games. I'm aware my art is nowhere near the better FNAS fan games, but I hope the gameplay itself could convince people that my game just might be worth the effort.
Quick office screenshot cuz I haven't shown a clear office screenshot after I've made some changes to it.

Plans for the near future
I hope to change my old ways and start uploading more frequently. I want to post more dev logs similar to this to try and inform folks about the progress on this project. If you noticed the "2025" thing on the new thumbnail, I wanted to try and get this game done by the end of this year to set a deadline for myself of sorts, specifically for Summer time maybe. Now there's no promises that I'll actually finish this game up in time or not, but I do want to at least post a up to date demo to show what's to come.
This demo will contain:
- Nights 1-3
- Extras Menu
- Some easter eggs and secrets (mayhaps)
- A mini-custom night
Ofc with the custom night portion, it'll only contain the characters that you'll encounter in the demo. Considering that I've coded 3ish AI's so far, I'm hoping I can provide this up to date demo sometime next month if possible. If not, then hey, the longer a game takes to make the better quality it'll be am I right?
I also want to establish that "Classical Finale" and "Grand Finale" are going to be treated as alternate timelines and will both have separate lore.
The description, name, and thumbnail of the game have also been updated accordingly. Since I haven't gotten too much done for the 'Grand Finale', the 'Classical Finale' thumbnail will be the thumbnail for this page until I get around to making it. With all that said, this'll finally conclude my "first" dev log. Have a nice day/night!
