Hey it’s Cheshie,
For me, yesterdayevening i silently released version 0.3.1 of You are Here. Seeing as i need to get a little bit more involved into getting my name out i decided to write up a little blog as well where i am going to tell you about how i want to (try) continue development.
First of all, i want to thank everyone for looking, playing, recording, and commenting. With that out of the way it’s time to get serious.
Of all the comments i have gotten so far i have taken these to heart and the most common things was player engagement. Players didn’t know what to do, where to go, or how it all worked. I wanted to fix that, and i partially did in this release. This made me think about my release strategy and i am planning on doing a two stroke cycle.
Release which contains stuff from my todo list.
Release with fixes and feedback implemented.
Ofcourse in doing so i will have to be more transparant about my todo list as well. Below is a short list with high priority items:
Current objectives (after discovery) in the screen.
Tweak the sizes for the progress bar and “hint” on locked door.
Add some “training” or story to teach the player how objects are found.
Add the second easter egg to the game.
Hiding spots/crouching.
Make monster react to flashlight.
Backstory in-game.
More sounds.
Ability to re-lock doors to keep the monster out.
Much spook, such scare, many tension!
And more…
Ofcourse more things will go on this list, and some might drop off. I hope you will enjoy playing and help me and the game grow to greatness.
Thanks for reading!
~ Cheshie
