Disclaimer: I just lost a draft of the post and it frustrated me so much that I may skip some parts. This is a look back in 2024, so if you're only here to see progress skip to the "december" part.
January - Legacy era
On january 3rd, I decided to draw the first sprite for this game, i had the idea when i thought to myself "what if I made a dusttale take but without everything I disliked in the original?", that was how the legacy era was born

"This sprites were supposed to be used in the final encounter of the game, after you and sans killed all the monsters in underground, sans felt confident that with his new knowledge he would be able to stop you, so he confronts you in the judgment hall. Phantom papyrus was supposed to appear in that fight too and would be a representation of sans guiltness and can only manifestate when sans is desperate. His appearance would be really short, only attacking you at the final attack." -thuirox from the past.
May - Pre reboot era
After some Time, I decided to just give up on the game because I didn't like the result of my sprites at all. But on the begining of May, after being bored asf, I decided to take a look in the story and rewrite some stuff, untill I made this drawing
I decided to make a whole revamp on the lore and sprites, aswell as creating the gamejolt page. I made a few more art and sprites to it, and some of them are still in the page because it's still being revamped
It was at this time that the game started being actually worked on, and when I got the first people to help me, but when I took another look in the story, some things were off, so yeah, here goes the last reboot
June - Reboot era
Now things are finally starting to go well. I remade the sprites, made some really cool art, and made the concepts for snowdin encounter and ruins encounter.
Untill...
July - The computer incident
After 2 years, my computer just decided to unalive his ssd, making me lost EVERYTHING. It was really dark times, people that were there know it, but I was able to get past trough this and finish the now scrapped snowdin encounter spritesheet
I was also able to make some new art, which was the reason more people joined the team and later on made the first track of Dusttale Abyss

September/November - Depression
These months were hell for me, everything in my life started being horrible, and I got a huge problem with depression. This made me lost motivation on the project and try to represent it in the game (Now renamed to Dusttale:Omega). If y'all didn't notice yet, this was supposed to be a vent game, when I tried to express my feelings and problems. Some of my team members were busy and I felt like I should just give up on everything. I tried to hide this from the public, but in reality everything was just getting worse. I made some cool art and the other team members made the new snowdin sprites, but apart from that everything was a mess, specially inside my head

December - now
Well, this month was really weird. I got rid of my depression and other problems, was able to make some new sprites and rewrite some concepts. I got help from other people and managed to find a new artist for the game, so I think things will be better now. Now for progress, unfortunatelly all I have to show is this images of flowey encounter, that are really cool tho, but are still much less than what I've shown in other devolgs.

Conclusion
If I could resume everything that this year was in one word, it would be challenging. I had a lot of problems in my life and in the game, but with the help of other people I was abble to bypass it. I want to thank all of my team members (@cassdudette , @ReverbCat , @StressTown ) for helping me out in the game, aswell as the new team member @NanoUzbek805 that even if didn't made anything yet will hopefully be able to help in the future (please go follow them). Also big shoutout for @DonKorge and @cattyboy for being one of the first followers of this game and see the development of this game since the start. thank y'all for this year, and I'll see you in 2025.
