As development progresses, news and posts for CDH2 Reshined now officially have a home. No longer will I have to write "[[ obligatory reminder that this is for CDH2 Reshined ]]" under every single dev-relevant post.

Anyways, let's move along with today's devlog:

DOES THIS MEAN THE GAME IS RELEASING SOON??

Nope.

The reason this game page exists far earlier than usual is partly because of convenience. And also because I got tired of putting down reminders about which posts are about CDH2 Reshined.

The game still has a long while to go before it is finished, but progress is being made! We'll get there eventually, but for now, I'm putting all my heart into shaping this game.

Do you have a estimated release date planned?

No.

Once a developer starts estimating release dates, they'll only screw themselves over. Believe me, I've made those same mistakes a while ago.

Will we ever learn the protagonist’s real name, or will the fake alias remain a permanent mystery?

The 'fake alias' isn't really permanent so to speak, but it will definitely stick around for a while. I will reveal his name once the time is right, but for now, he will remain nameless...

Well, nameless to you all... because I actually do know his name, and I am not going to reveal it! >:D

Will the mask work differently on old versus new animatronics?

The mask outright does not work on the old characters. You'll have to rely on other tools.

Will there be hints that the protagonist did something they regret, or is it fully left to speculation?

The game quite literally shows what he did... to some extent. Once you see it, you'll get it immediately.

Is there a reason the protagonist picked this specific night guard job beyond money or hiding?

Fear maybe, but it's mainly just because of hiding and trying to forget his past.

Once you see it in-game, you'll understand immediately.

Are there intentional “unfinished” areas in the 'New & Improved' Pizza Place?

Will the rebuilt building include easter eggs or visual references to the old location?

I feel like there are a lot more easter eggs to other parts of the series than strictly the 'old' location.

Will there be consequences for ignoring or misusing tools?

Pretty much, yeah.

Are there differences in how the old vs new animatronics perceive the player narratively?

They are all suspicious of the protagonist, because who the heck just enters a closed down establishment at night?

However, the difference is that the old ones work on assumption, while new ones... well, given enough time with facial recognition systems, they'll figure out just how fake the 'alias' is.

How long is the current development cycle, and are beta testers seeing full gameplay?

Currently, beta testers do not have access to the new batch of beta builds (as I am still making night progression, achievements and a handful of other cutscenes), but we're getting there.

Can you pretty please reveal one achievement icon?

Hmm, how about two?
