Happy New Year everyone!! We're officially one month back into development, and so much has happened already! I say we just jump into it now and talk about what's been going on behind the scenes and how development is moving forward!
The 2026 Sneak Peek!

That's right! If you didn't see it already, a new Sneak Peek has been revealed! Showing off some of the plot for Chapter 2 in the RPG, along with a brand new level: "Meltdown!" Meltdown was teased almost 2 YEARS AGO with its song being revealed to be involved with the project. I can't believe its been that long, but expect to see a lot of those previously announced songs come into the game more and more as development moves forward!
Also wanna reiterate about the level shown in this trailer, it's obviously not done. The level had about 2-3 weeks of development from layout to what was showcased. I didn't get to add everything I wanted to, so keep that in mind when jumping in! (The text at the bottom of the showcase should be enough of a sign lol.) The level will be a lot more fleshed out and decorated upon the official release of the level! :)
If you haven't seen the trailer already, you can watch it here!
This Month's Additions
I missed this segment of devlogs! I'm sure you did too! Alright, normally I would just list a bunch of things in one paragraph, but so much has happened that I think it needs to be showcased in multiple paragraphs to get the point across. That, and also cause I feel like I haven't shown much after so long, so let's change that! (Some of these screenshots will be taken directly from the game engine level editor).
New Chapter 2 Areas that were done getting finished art!

That's right. Some new places finally have finished art! I'm very happy with how it's looking so far. Fits very well with the style Nexitron City is going for. Not all of it is done obviously, but what has been finished, is already looking really good! It'll definitely look better with the lighting, but I haven't made it to that part quite yet. We're slowly getting there though!
New Areas have been made!

I obviously can't show too much, but new areas are already being made, and the story is progressing! There are still some placeholders spread out here and there, but the goal is to have that all done and taken care of by at least next month! I am really enjoying creating new maps and areas again, level design is so much fun! (I have a thing for designing areas and stuff. It's lowkey the best part of development for me!)
Exciting new interactions!

There's a lot to interact with and see, and people to talk to in Chapter Two! I just about quadrupled the amount of NPC's and characters you'll interact with in the game. Some of which will be a little more dire to the progression throughout the game unlike Chapter One! And of course, returning NPC's will make an appearance as well! Some of your faves won't just be a chapter one thing!
Well, that's just about all I can show without spoiling too much. You'll have to wait just a little longer to see more!
What's next?
According to my to-do list. We should (hopefully) have the whole base of Chapter Two's RPG segment wrapped up by the end of February! So that's the plan at the moment. RPG First, levels after! Meltdown was worked on early just to have something to show at the end of 2025, but it will be back in the workshop after the RPG! After the levels are done, I'll go back and revise the RPG to make it more fleshed out. A revision of everything to make the story more clear and maybe flesh out things properly before release. Thennnn... RELEASE!!! I'm still aiming for "Any point before GTA 6" and so far, as long as everything goes smoothly and nothing gets in the way, everything should be good for that! Let's just cross our fingers everything works out. I really wanna get Chapter Two in peoples hands. Everything about it so far is so much fun!
I wish I had more to share, but obviously, I need to keep some things under wraps. Don't wanna spoil too much! The mystery is what makes this whole thing exciting!
Everything is planned out, we just need to make it. (Currently listening to the song used for the final level as I'm writing this!
) So let's get to making! Thank you all so much for your everlasting patience with me on this project. Game development takes time, and doing it practically solo for such a giant scale project isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world! Can't wait to share more with you all soon! See you all again next month! :)
