No, I’m not ignoring your bug reports, trust me, I am not. BUT Prior to releasing 1.3.0 I was working on the game almost DAILY! There was rarely a day that went by when I wasn’t working on at least one part of my game since the day I announced 1.3.0’s release date.
Prior to announcing 1.3.0 I was STILL working on it at least 2-3 times a week for about 4hrs at a time. When I announced 1.3.0 I doubled those hours on weekends and once I was out of schooling also doubled those hours during the week as well.
To put this in perspective:
In the last 2 months I have put 448 hours into making this game!
That’s 8hrs 7 days a week and 224hours a month!
THAT’S A LOT OF HOURS!
It got to the point that my BF had to forcefully make me step away from working on this game at times to get something to eat due to me not wanting to disappoint you all.
Once I released 1.3.0 I figured there would be bugs but I didn’t expect so many game breaking ones! Looking at all the bug reports I have gotten so far has made me realize one important fact:
Working on the game so much caused me to get sloppy.
Basically, I was working so hard on this game that I stopped going back to playtest what I had just coded due to trying to get as much done as possible in as little time as possible.
This is what most likely led to so many bugs being found in the current version of the game.
That said, I plan to fix the bugs in the most efficient way possible:
I am going to playtest my game from start to finish and squash the bugs as I encounter them.
HOWEVER!
I am going to take a FULL MONTH break from game development to relax and unwind before I tackle this bug ridden mess.
I’m sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear but I’m a living person too! I’m not some machine who can work tirelessly 24/7! I have wants, needs, and dreams too ya know! :)
That said, I wish you all a Happy Holidays and a Happy New year!
