Before I give you what I promise to be good news, this post needs a little backstory. I’ll try to be brief.
A while back, I had an idea for a game called “Yanfly: Machine of Eternity.” A fan-game for RPGM developer Yanfly. (Or whatever the term for what he does is. I don’t think he’s a dev…) However, I decided to scrap the idea some time back because it would be a nightmare to get all the sprites together.
Cut to a couple days ago, and I realized that I could use some of the ideas I had for that game to move this one forward! I know, I said I was going to have branching storylines and permadeath and all that jazz, but I came to realize that people probably don’t care that a game is really over-the-top. At least, not on this site. (Okay, a game had better be pretty good if you’re gonna pay money, but since I plan on making this game “Name Your Price” anyway, what’s the harm?)
So here’s what I’m gonna do: a traditional linear storyline, you get a new character at the end of each of six or so chapters, maybe sprinkle in some stale memes and fourth wall breaches, and that’ll be the game. Not too different from what I’ve already got on this site, eh?
Now here’s the reason I asked you not to get your hopes too high. This game still isn’t at the top of my priorities list. However, it has moved from fourth to second out of nine. As soon as I get my next upcoming title out, this game goes right into development. TronicMC 2015, if you’re reading this, you’re welcome. Monochrome Dream, Danieluigi 64, if you two are reading this, I’m sorry. Silent Black 1976, if you’re reading this… well, you’re probably not gonna care, now that I think about it.
Anyway, that’s my news for now. On a related note, I may post an updated demo sometime in the next 30 days, but that’s about it. Until next you hear of me.
