The dad turned out to be a trans man the whole time and he gave birth to the daughter not the mom and the mom was a queer femme with PCOS so she had a harder time getting pregnant in the first place.
And Annabelle didn't end up with Bailey because Bailey wasn't into cis people, so Annabelle ended up with her classmate who came out as a trans boy named Julian.
