What was the idea?
Okay so, in Rexters Adventure, I used to have this portal at the start of the game. It was a small level and didn't have a huge impact on the game.
Now when I started making KIP2, the entire update was made around this 1 idea. I wanted to combine all the maps of KIP2, to make portals that you could seamlessly walk trough.
I did make it, and added it between the Pizzeria map and the Town map.
But then I thought, it also needs to be added for both the drivethru and the backroom door.
Why did I remove it?
And this is where the problem came in. Cause if you combine 1 map with 1 door, you also have to do the other doors. And to be honest, it was amazing to walk in your pizzeria without having to click on a door. But, I just had to make a tough decision. I wanted to leave it in, but at Epic settings, the game would run on max 20 fps, in this image it ran at 3 fps because I was out of play mode. But the general fps was around 10 fps.
Portal in-game:
So I decided to remove the doors, and at Epic settings I now have 40fps. Now it's still not perfect, but things like the sky, that does take a bit of FPS, just can't be removed, and the doors can.
Now the portal doors will be gone, but the maps will still be combined. So this way I can make so that cops can chase you outside.
Let's see what else I will bring to KIP2... Maybe an old friend? Maybe a new vehicle? Maybe an animal? Who knows, well I do...
Also, the game will probably be in development for a while still but I am trying to make it in max like 2 months hopefully (depending on what I add). So stay tuned!
Stay Golden! 😉💛
