Okay so obviously the demo didn't happen. The game kinda went into hiatus for several months, and there have been other complications, but I am pleased to say that progress is once again actually being made. More about the future of Pete's below!


What have I been doing?

Over the past few months, PtNS has been through it's largest period of development since the project began in earnest 4 years ago. Just in the past few months I have updated the gameplay mechanics and created a fresh new suite of updated character models. However, as you can probably guess, this has slowed development somewhat, but I'm sure you'll be blown away by the progress since the last update.

Where is the demo you promised almost a year ago, Ogre?

The demo ended up in development hell after I hit a patch of apathy for development, and it is still unfinished. I'm aiming for the game to be in a playable state by the end of the month, but no promises this time. These things take time to complete.

Why did you remake the models?

Remaking the models for Pete's tends to happen whenever I begin seriously working on the project again. The models currently on the GameJolt page, which were actually version 3.5, were retextures of models I made in 2016, before I knew how to properly make wires. These new models draw heavily from those old ones while still being unique and current with my modelling skills.

So, how far along is this new version?

Progress is advancing slowly, and there isn't really much to speak of finished as of right now, but there never really has been on any older version, to be honest, so that's nothing new. Development will take off in the next few days, once all the area modelling is finished. I expect the game to be out around June, but could push it to August if I need to.

Alright, so that's the current state of development. The page will be updated with new teasers and artwork which represent the current game in the next few days.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa MarΓ­a Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
