i think they used kindness soul user as base, and then like Kris buff red red buster and dual heal, seven strongest humans just buff spell with power of the soul.
if i would choose who could that be kindness user, in undertale intro at moment when monsters were gathered into cave, red soul user and woman with stuff stand at front and then she (i think) cast barrier spell.

Hello, guys have you noticed that only monsters have white and black battle sprites?
all darknerers have coloured sprites even in dialogues, i decide this is because they are not made of magic? with this idea i create Chance's dialogue sprite.
i drew Chance in battle, he is coloured because of the reason from previous post, and yeah he is single guy who will have coloured sprites everywhere.
Hello, i redrawed even more sprites for style of undertale true kindness (i dunno, nobody said which name is better so ill call project like this) im have finished only four sprites, and ngl i had skill issue with loox so there they are.
i finished migosp, i added wings because why not and honestly he looks good, i dunno if i could make a dance sprite for when he is ready to spare, but maybe tommorow world will see it!
So this is sewers enemys, I'm tried to make all of them cool and rememberable.
