Greetings, Tusslers! Another week, another Feature Friday!
This week, I’ve been working on getting the main menu and the settings all wired up with the new art assets. Here, you can see the controller settings. TUSSLE supports all sorts of game controllers, both joystick and d-pad (if you don’t have a joystick, smash motions can be performed by a double-tap). You can map up to three different buttons for an action. It also supports giving the same button more than one function, so, for example, if you want to map a button to Jump+A (For example, if you want to try out the recently announced Smash Ultimate’s Short Hop Shortcut) then you could find an unused button and map it as an alternate for Jump and Attack.
And here we see the Game Options! Here you can tweak all sorts of physics settings, including global multipliers of almost every kind of number (gravity, hitstun, landing lag, etc.) as well as tweaking settings to mix-and-match mechanics from your favorite Smash games. This means that you can, for example, have Smash 4′s forgiving ledge mechanics with Melee ledge hogging, or have trumps with tighter windows. Since I’ve been busy building the UI, I haven’t gotten around to doing a write up on all of the different settings that are available, (also I realized that that would make a great filler update in the future if I need it) so stay tuned for that!
That’s all I’ve got this week, so, until next time, Tusslers!
