Greetings, Citizens of Ultraviolet City! It is I, Roses!
So, so, so sorry for being late on posting this devlog! The main reason why I was late was because of motivation issues during script writing.
No, seriously. I thought really hard about it much more than anything else I needed to, which is including writing a devlog that was meant to be posted in…twenty-one days ago. You all deserve my upmost apologies and thank you so much for your patience.
Regardless, I noticed some small increase of followers this month! Not sure why that happened but hey! We shall take the small victories as we go!
This devlog has a lot of stuff to share but not too many. Hopefully, this won’t disappoint y’all.
Before we start, however, let’s all give a round of applause for a late birthday celebration to Blake Ardbeg! Hopefully, he won’t get too anngry about this, haha.
First Section: Writing
Now, as you all know, the drafts for each route have been completed and organized. There aren’t any major changes happened to them as we are speaking.
The Prologue section of the game, which would still be in the first chapter of the game, are considered “finished”. Oh, to be specific, The Game will only have 2 chapters. Both of them are planned to be a dense in content.
Back to the point, a large chunk of the prologue section is considered “complete” but, there are still things that I’m not too sure about. The main problem is the character voice. Trying to make them unique is a first concern but the 2nd concern is if they all sound right. Grammar and sentence making is a concern but dear god. The horror…
And I’ve recently learned visual novels have a pretty HUGE word count so we just scraped the surface…
It’s pretty overwhelming, if I will be honest, but I’m trying to not let this whole thing scare me. In fact, I noticed I get excited about writing a specific scene to the point I lost time, haha. So, I will do my best no matter what!
On that note, the script for Sara’s route has about 30% progress. I will go on route progress in this order:
Sara > Saffron > Blake > Shawn > Bonnie
Now let’s move onto the next subject….
Second Section : art!
Work related to the visual media of the game for this month have been focused onto UI art. As of this moment: here is a concept art of how the game would look:

Keep in mind these are NOT programmed in Clickteam yet nor is it at the final stage!
You might notice a major contrast with how the background looks in comparison to Arthur’s bedroom. Just letting you all know it’s intentional!
I would love to hear comments on this, it’s simple but I really hope this doesn’t feel boring.
In addition, I made cutscene art for the prologue! The first has been posted so, here is another one:

Hope y’all liked it! There is also a minor change of the frame for Mike Jr. Arthur’s glasses which is a change from rectangular frame to a circular frame

(Excuse the floating head)
We’ll move to a third section that needs to be stated.
Third section : Minor changes
If you noticed, the game’s page has been slightly updated.
Some of the content that were placed for the game are now outdated. Mainly the game’s summary, Arthur and Saffron’s teasers, along with some minor errors within the teasers. They will all be updated accordingly soon.
There’s also the game’s thumbnail not showing the game name. Will put a temporary one for now.
As mentioned in the previous devlog, here is a list of the following dates for devlogs (based on the characters’ birthdays)!
-January 3rd (Blake)
-February 6th (Shawn)
- February 24th (Walter)
- April 3rd (Bonnie)
- June 6th (June)
- July 1st (Morse)
- August 8th (Sara & Saffron)
- December 12th (Arthur/Mike Jr.)
February seems like a bloated month, and the next devlog may not show much progress in comparison to this one but it’s okay.
Regardless, I hope this was an enjoyable read to y’all!
See you all in the next one!
