POPGOES Evergreen


Yes, the new title for the POPGOES reboot is POPGOES Evergreen!

This might seem a bit strange, or it might sound really cool to you already. But I just want to give some reasons as to why this name felt so perfect for us.

For those unaware, "evergreen" is a word used to describe trees and other plants that are green all-year-round. They don't lose their leaves in the autumn and they live a looong time (pine trees live up to 700 years!). That's the main definition of evergreen.

And that's our inspiration here. Evergreen is a word that means timelessness, freshness, a long, nice life. Very fitting for a reboot by itself. But there's more!

  1. The Popgoes Pizzeria has always been decorated to resemble a forest or a garden. Trees, fruit, flowers, butterflies... Even POPGOES Arcade 2020 Edition made this obvious. The characters live in a forest.

  2. Green is the primary colour of POPGOES, and this reboot. It's Popgoes the Weasel's "power colour", and green is now EVERYWHERE in the pizzeria.

  3. The word "evergreen" is a direct parallel to POPGOES 2's subtitle, "The Dead Forest". What better way to leave the old games behind by essentially saying "Hey, screw the dead forest. This forest lives forever!"

There are some other small reasons that I would rather not share (they're either too boring or secret at the moment), but I think you get the picture. POPGOES Evergreen is a nice, catchy, unique name that we feel really captures the style of the game we are making. If you don't like it at first, don't worry - I'm sure it will grow on you. Haha, grow, like a tree. Funny.
