You see this team? This is the first team you ever get. You just not modify anything at all, go straight into a battle, and this is what you end up with.
This team might be bad, and by all means there are absolutely better teams out there... but it's got almost all that it's needed to grind really hard areas like the Glitch World.
Ok, follow my start-of-game guide real quick here:
Enter Fazbear Hills. Go to Choppy's Woods through the glitched tree
Press the button, end the Fredbear dialogue. You now have unlimited access to the Glitch area through the tree stump with a bird on it
Grind in Fazbear Hills (easier to kill character encounters, your only real challenge) until you get an Unscrew user (that means JJ or Phantom Chica)
Replace Bonnie with the designated Unscrew user
Head into the Glitch Area. Reach the Lilygear Lake red chest. It contains Auto: Shield
Congrats, you can now kill virtually any team of enemies you wish from the Glitch Area
That was quick. What's that gonna take: 10 to 20 minutes? Wait... why is this enough? Look at your party members real quick and you may realize you have literally all the moves you need to kill whatever you desire:
Freddy Fazbear has Birthday. This will boost attack (useless), but most importantly defense and speed. It only lasts one full team cycle, so Freddy Fazbear must always and only use this one move
Chica has Cupcakes. With Auto: Shield on and the Birthday boost, you can absorb the damage of the Glitch Area enemies and remain at full health even after a lot of time
Foxy has Jumpscare. This will stun enemies and prevent them from attacking, either by stalling or by literally nulling their oncoming attack
Your unscrewer is the main attacker here. They will sweep the enemy team in due time
Notice, however, that the unscrewer is not a necessary step to be able to beat any Glitch Area enemy. Even Bonnie alone, with enough time, can beat the enemies. Hell, even Poppers can be spammed to kill them: it's just that it's gonna time so much more time that it's more convenient to use an Unscrewer.
To summarize, all you need to kill some of the game's strongest enemies is... literally an Unscrewer and a chip you can get at the start of the game. That's it. You might have trouble with Fourth Wall, but only in rare cases.
How do I know this works? I tried this myself. Multiple times. On the original and in the funking fan games. I tried it in Fixed, the OG, Overturned (but it's just Fixed at the end of the day), Redacted (only useful for the Faz-token grind) and, if you are fast enough, it works on Refreshed too.
Now you can grind even in the best area in the game without the need to run (for now, you can instead grind in the second best area in the game). But if you don't wanna grind for Faz-tokens and just grind for characters, running is your best bet, except the way you get Run: Luck is super easy too. Another 5-10 minutes of game time and voilĂ .
What's the point of this?
FNAF World: Universal Madness is obviously gonna be much longer than FNAF World or any of the other fan games we have seen so far. Something like this is devastating to the main game. It actively ruins the fun: that's why Redacted is my favorite fan game (except Universal Madness, ofc). It made me stop and appreciate every single character, I got to use them all and got to know them. I didn't even know I wanted this until I was forced to sit through it: I usually just skipped ahead. This doesn't happen in FNAF World, however.
Now, you partially solved this problem. You need to unlock characters not by fighting, but by completing quests. In other terms, you locked characters behind areas. Good call: but it's not my main concern here. I'm more concerned about the skins.
If you can get skins with any form of currency that can be grinded early on, then I think I showed why this would ruin the rest of the game. Some of the skins are incredibly overpowered and should have nothing to do with the start of or mid-game. This is solvable though, I think these could be good solutions:
Lock skins behind areas: that way you can check the flow of the game and not allow people to instantly become overpowered
Lock progress by forcing players to use specific party members: I like this less, but it would still get to the point. It can, however, be circumvented
Lock skins by using a later game kind of currency: also a solution to this, much like Refreshed does. But then I think it would take some of the fun in collecting them
What about the Glitch World? I think it should still be a grinding area, but make the enemies so strong that you necessarily need Gift Boxes and very strong attackers at least to progress.
So, point of the story is: please don't leave overpowered shortcuts in the game of any form. Doing so, I think, would mean being able to skip everything and that's what most players will do. Not many will stop to appreciate the world you built and that's a real shame in my opinion.
What do you think? Do you also think shortcuts like these should be cut? I'm curious to know
