ProjectTem Progress Update - September/October 2017

Hello, everybody! I have decided to cancel the project start making these monthly devlogs to update everyone about the engine’s progress, and oh boy has the engine changed!

I initially expected this engine to be done at around this time next year—but instead of late next year, it’s most likely to be done at around April or even March! now, for the status update!

What I had previously:

  • Intro with text, (some minor bugs, like the fade not appearing after pressing Z or ENTER after the first slide

  • Title screen (no bugs[At least that I know of])

  • Naming screen (Some custom responses needed indentions, like Toriel’s who’s response went offscreen)

What I have now:

  • Everything above mentioned with ALL bugs fixed

  • Working Overworld system with player, walking animations, and collisions (Some movement bugs, such as pressing the bottom three arrow keys at the same time will make the player’s left animation play while moving down)

  • Working c-menu, item system, and global controller objects (Some bugs, can’t figure out the cause at the time of this writing though)

  • Working textbox system (has lots of bugs—but still functional atm [I mean, I just created it 10 minutes ago…])

  • NPCs! (sans [wait no it’s a dog in disguise])

But that’s the end of this month’s status report! If you guys ask really nicely, I might even provide a build…
