Rarity. (I will do some nerd talk in the article)

I've added rarities to the items in the game. Every item has a kind of a rarity weight and this determines how common they are to drop in a loot table.

An item has two attributes for now: Name and rarity.

These are all the items in the game at this time. They are not functional yet besides they can be added in player's inventory; but nothing else. (That's to be added sometime later. I'm tired.)

Rarity works just like in physical trading card games. The rarity an item has is actually what amount of it there is in a loot table. That's not a physical amount but rather a theoretical amount. It never increases or decreases.

Another way to look at it is like this: There are 50 fish and 25 crabs in a pond. Statistically you have a higher chance of catching a fish because 50 + 25 is 75 and 50 is 66% of 75. So you have 66% chance to catch a fish.

yeah i'm overcomplicating this.

And this is an example loot table/droptable for when you're catching a fish. They all have different rarities and if you check above, glassfish is the rarest one in this loot table. The game I'm making won't only have fish of course but that's what I've got for now.

I'm planning to add many other survival mechanics such as sleeping, crafting, building, fighting, deep sea diving (hell yeah) etc. This will be like a Sons of the Forest experience but in 2D and much more chill and rewarding.

that's it for the game.

If you've read this far then you deserve a life update I guess. I'm fine generally but usually get mad over other people. Most of the population not even knowing what empathy is or pretending they know it just bothers me a lot. Some poeple think they're the center of the world. No one wants to confront with their own mistakes like a normal human and improve themselves. And then there's people who act like their own insecurities are someone elses and claim that they are the perfect human being. Just sad. I thought I could trust and love people and this could fix them but nah it doesn't. If you ever feel like this in your life about someone, then just follow your instincts and save yourself from emotional manipulations. Helping other people and being there for them is a good thing but after a while some people think you'll never leave them and do anything bad to them and they get used to it. They abuse your innocence and good nature basically.

yeah anyway. don't trust people even if you've known them for years. time means nothing in terms of trust. it's all about personality, morality and connections you make. keep yourself safe.

And btw I'm selling this laptop I'm using rn and I'll buy a new one a couple of days later. In the meanwhile I won't be able to add new features to the game (should be obvious, how am i supposed to code? through telekinesis?) but don't worry. With university on the way I'll have so much time on my hands to make games I believe. Or at least I hope.

and i know i may not respond to comments usually but i read all of them every time. you guys matter. everyone matters
