Regional forms, a thing we've all loved since their introduction. It's unlocked a whole new level of creativity, wonder, and theorizing across the Pokémon community, and many of us have even come to think of our own takes of the Pokémon officially out there! It's been a while since I did something like this, but it was a great refresher after what I've been drawing the past few months.
This is, as the title suggests, a regional form concept for Magnemite. I've actually had this idea for a couple of years, but it became dormant, and I never went to drawing it until recently where the idea came back to my mind. Magnemite is certainly a Pokémon worth getting a fresh new take, but not many people have given it such treatment, so this is my contribution to the whole thing in some form. Do note that this and potential future concepts don't relate to any Pokémon region concepts and are their own thing to an extent; each concept tells their own story.
Regional Magnemite (Grass / Steel): Think of a region where humans have found a Pokémon/Pokémon species superior to Magnemite. This causes the local Magnemites to be rejected and forced to take refuge in an abandoned city overtaken by nature, something humans won't really bother going to. Overtime, they've been adapting to their new home by letting nature play its course on them as their electricity started to dwindle; moss grows on the body, rust appears and spreads on the magnets, and some parts are gone. Thankfully for them, they discovered a peculiar plant that would grow on them and oddly provide a mysterious power that keeps them active and well. This plant has not been properly discovered nor researched by humans, so its properties are more of an enigma than anything.
These Magnemites have developed a sense of anti-trust with humans, but perhaps you could be the one to break it apart and give them a second chance. Speaking of second, perhaps you could have a Magnemite pair up with another of its kind to achieve some sort of evolution...
