Although I've showed you snippets of the game's progress, I feel like I really owe you a proper devlog after months and months of staying silent.
And you might think I'm not showing anything properly because I haven't got really far at all in development; and you might even be right, but truth is that the game is slowly but surely making progress. Hell, I've managed to code all the office stuff, cameras, and mechanics like I pictured them exactly in my head a year ag- wait... it's been a year already?! I still really can't believe I've been working on this for such a long time. Wow.
Like I was saying, the hardest part of the process of bringing this game to life is that I want to exceed expectations. When something isn't right, I completely remake it from the ground-up (for example, the menu you saw at the beginning of the game's development will be completely revamped as I've grown to dislike it quite a bit). And this is what is making me take a really long time, aside from the complexity of some character's AI, while still paying off all the fatigue and suffering due to how cool they are in my honest opinion.
And yeah, of course here's something ;)
Fredbear was the last one I've completed so far, taking me a month and a half. His mechanic is quite simple but can really throw you off on your first playthrough and even on later nights. I'm super proud of how his mechanic came out and I cannot wait for you all to see our beloved piss-colored bear into action :D.
To be completely honest, all the little animations (which are made on MSPaint, do not expect Flumpty's level stuff + I'm really not an animator) in this game are what truly brings it to life. And although it was something new for me, I'm glad I've been able to add them in one way or another :).
In conclusion, the game sits at a fairly good place as of now. I'm not having major problems coding AI and instead having so much fun. School will be over in one month in my country and I can proudly say I'm doing pretty good on that too, so hopefully I won't have to attend any exams during summertime.
Now, I would like to say goodbye for now, as I have to finish up this little fella here and, trust me, he will not be a piece of cake to draw, code or animate :|.
See you all next time, stay golden! :DD
